Where's the iPad's Competition?

We reviewed the usage share numbers on three of the iPad's top competitors and found the following:

The iPad has 0.92% share of all browsing. This compares to:

TabletMay Usage Share (of all browsing)
Samsung Galaxy Tab0.018%
Motorola Xoom0.012%
Blackberry PlayBook0.003%

In other words, the iPad has 53 times the usage share of its nearest competitor.

Modern Warfare (for Browsers)

When Microsoft decided not to support XP for Internet Explorer 9, they narrowed the front for the browser wars to Windows 7.  We've been tracking this strategy ever since, and in May, Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 reached 12.2% worldwide (including custom editions). In the U.S., Internet Explorer 9 on Windows 7 averaged 17% usage share during the last three days of May.

According to Microsoft, Internet Explorer 9 is designed to take advantage of the graphics capabilities of Windows 7 and the underlying hardware for better performance and integrates websites into the Windows 7 experience.
